Come join us cleaning up St. Pete Beach on Saturday May 11th from 8-10am. . . . . Please park in the south parking lot and look for us on the beach!. . . . WHAT TO WEAR: Please wear closed toed shoes and clothing you don't mind getting dirty. We recommend a hat or sunglasses too.. . . . WHAT TO EXPECT: All cleanup supplies are provided including reusable gloves, trash bags, trash pickers, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and bug spray. A water refill station will be available, please bring a refillable water bottle.. . . . PARKING: When you arrive at TradeWinds, please park in the south parking lot near the entrance. You're invited to join the Part-Tee and enjoy a fun day of golf while supporting the USF Recreation and Wellness department. Proceeds from the golf tournament will support the health and wellbeing of the USF community and providing professional development opportunities for USF students and staff.. . . . Graduated from University of South Florida and who dedicated over 35 years most of his professional career to USF, Eric Hunter served as Director of Campus Recreation before retiring in Jan. 2019. He was instrumental in the current footprint of the Campus Recreation Center. In his honor, the Eric Hunter Memorial Fund was established after his passing back on April 4, 2022. - May 112:00 PMQuilting Our History: An Exhibit of Quilts by Lauren AustinThe USF Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies is proud to host an art exhibit this semester, Quilting Our History: An Exhibit of Quilts by Lauren Austin, which will open on Monday, February 12. . . . . Lauren Austin is a Florida-based storytelling artist who has worked for over 30 years in the medium of quilts. Austin’s work merges her own life story with that of Black history and cultural memory. Her quilts are large-scale mixed media pieces, incorporating photographic processes, stone lithograph, beading, hand-stitching, and hand-dyed fabrics.. . . . There is an open house reception on 2/12 from 2:00-3:30pm in CMC 202. Additionally, there will be two free companion events – a fabric artbook workshop on February 21 and a public lecture on February 22.
