  • Description
Leukemia is one of the most complex cancers—impacting the blood and bone marrow, and often requiring both advanced research and compassionate clinical care. While we’ve introduced the basics in our earlier Instagram story, now it’s time to dive deeper into the real-world side of leukemia research and treatment.

That’s why we’re kicking off Fireside Talks: Episode I with Dr. Fabiana Perna, a physician-scientist at Moffitt Cancer Center who works at the cutting edge of leukemia research while also caring for patients. Dr. Perna will share her personal journey, the challenges and breakthroughs of working in this field, and how discoveries in the lab are transforming the way doctors treat patients today.

This is your chance to go beyond the classroom: to hear directly from an expert, ask your own questions, and understand how research and clinical practice come together to fight cancer. Whether you’re new to medicine, already considering research opportunities, or simply curious about how science becomes patient care, this talk will give you both knowledge and inspiration.
