- DescriptionThis event is run by medical students a part of Project World Health, which is a USF Morsani College of Medicine organization that travels to the Dominican Republic each spring to organize free medical clinics for communities that otherwise struggle to access healthcare. All proceeds from this workshop will directly support our upcoming trip and patient care efforts abroad.
Undergraduate participants will gain practical experience learning basic suturing techniques using synthetic skin and surgical instruments under the guidance of experienced physicians. You’ll also have the opportunity to tour the USF Morsani College of Medicine, meet medical students, residents, and faculty, and learn more about medical training, service, and global health initiatives. Each participant will receive a full set of supplies, including a needle holder, teeth forceps, scissors, scalpel, synthetic skin, suture, and suture removal kit.
