- Feb 1910:00 AMBrian Maguire: La Grande IllusionLa Grande Illusion is a major exhibition of works by internationally acclaimed artist, Brian Maguire. The exhibition spans two decades of work that spotlights the artist’s lifelong quest to draw attention to global injustices, war, and human rights. One of Ireland's leading cultural figures, Maguire has turned the practice and tradition of painting into acts of visual testimony. Maguire’s paintings are global in scope and are derived from projects undertaken between 2007 and 2024 in Mexico, the Mediterranean, Syria, Sudan, the United States, and the Amazon. Maguire's artworks are painted from direct experience and involve the artist spending extensive time on the ground with the communities that welcome him. The results are, plainly put, paintings that visualize the commonality of human suffering and dramatize the plight of people in need. --- Event Details: https://bullsconnect.usf.edu/rsvp?id=1984330

- Feb 20–22Bulls Service Break: Give Kids the World VillageBulls Service Break (BSB) is the USF Tampa campus alternative service breaks program in the CLCE. The goal of the experience is to engage in immersive, reflective programs and services focused on moving students from Volunteers to Conscientious Citizens on the Community Collaborator Continuum. BSB is a part of a national movement of Active Citizenship whose purpose is to raise awareness of root causes of social issues and injustices through education, direct service, and immersive cultural exchange. Each BSB trip is rooted in the Break Away Eight Components of a Quality Alternative Break, which are: strong direct service, orientation, education, training, reflection, reorientation, diversity and social justice, and full engagement. The social issues explored on each BSB Trip align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The BSB experience consists of three critical parts: • Pre-Trip Transformation: Prepare participants for on-site, immersive experience and provide initial education, orientation and training about site-specific social issues • On-Trip Immersion: Participants work alongside communities to look critically at the root causes of social issues and evaluate the role they have in the community. • Post-Trip Re-Orientation: Participants commit to find avenues for continued community involvement and take action locallyGive Kids The World Village is an 89-acre, nonprofit "storybook" resort in Central Florida.
