Warehouse Sorting | Feeding Tampa Bay. . . . WHAT TO EXPECT. . Volunteers will inspect perishable and/or non-perishable foods for their expiration date and quality, then package those good foods into bags/boxes that will be distributed to our hungry neighbors soon thereafter.. . . . BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. . ALL volunteers MUST wear closed-toe shoes (i.e. sneakers) for warehouse safety. Volunteers wearing open-toe shoes will not be allowed to volunteer. Appropriate attire includes shirts with sleeves (no tank-tops), and jeans or shorts of appropriate length.. . . . AGE RESTRICTIONS. . There is NO minimum age to participate in this activity. However, please note this activity would be best suited for children 5+ years old. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer alone.. . This volunteer opportunity includes assisting in assembling and distributing meals to our residents and staff, as well as keeping the food distribution area clean and sanitized. In addition, some volunteers may support our residential life staff members. Minimum Age: The minimum age to volunteer for this shift is 12 with an adult or 14+ without an adult. Dress Code: Please be sure to wear CLOSED-TOE SHOES, long pants, and a shirt with sleeves (jeans and short sleeve t-shirts are great; no tank tops). Check-In: Because the Volunteer Center will be closed, you will check-in at our Miracle Place UPLIFT HALL building, located at 2106 N. Florida Avenue to check-in and get placed. Please report to the DOUBLE GLASS DOORS at the entrance of the building facing N. Florida Ave. Once you are buzzed in, report to the front desk to check-in.
