As natural carbon sinks, forests absorb 2.6 billion tons of CO₂ each year—about one-third of the CO₂ emitted from burning fossil fuels. While they can't solve climate change alone, protecting and preserving these vital ecosystems is essential to restoring a healthy balance of CO₂ in our atmosphere.
