The Laundry Project is a movement by Current Initiatives, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization incorporated in Florida that is committed to educating and mobilizing communities to be Hope Dealers through the Laundry Project, Hope For Homes Project and Affordable Christmas initiatives.. . . . The Laundry Project assists lower-income families with meeting a basic need – washing clothes and linens, by turning laundromats into community centers of hope. Laundry fees are paid for while volunteers assist with laundry services, entertain children, and create a caring space at the laundromat.. . . . Volunteers for this shift will be:. . . . Assisting customers with bringing laundry bags/baskets into the laundromat. . Putting quarters in washers and dryers when families are ready to start machines. . This volunteer opportunity includes assisting in assembling and distributing meals to our residents and staff, as well as keeping the food distribution area clean and sanitized. In addition, some volunteers may support our residential life staff members. Minimum Age: The minimum age to volunteer for this shift is 12 with an adult or 14+ without an adult. Dress Code: Please be sure to wear CLOSED-TOE SHOES, long pants, and a shirt with sleeves (jeans and short sleeve t-shirts are great; no tank tops). Check-In: Because the Volunteer Center will be closed, you will check-in at our Miracle Place UPLIFT HALL building, located at 2106 N. Florida Avenue to check-in and get placed. Please report to the DOUBLE GLASS DOORS at the entrance of the building facing N. Florida Ave. Once you are buzzed in, report to the front desk to check-in.
