Refugee Health Fair & Back to School Bash
Tampa Bay is home to a significant number of refugees seeking sanctuary from various parts of the world. However, despite their resilience, many refugees in this community face significant challenges, particularly in accessing adequate healthcare. Often, they encounter barriers such as language barriers, lack of health insurance, and limited knowledge of available services. As a result, they become medically underserved, with their health needs often going unaddressed. In response to this pressing issue, we are proud to announce the inaugural Refugee Health Fair & Back to School Bash sponsored by Gulf Coast JFCS and featuring many community partners including the University of South Florida, Florida Poison Control, Signature Smiles of St. Pete and more! This event aims to bridge the gap in healthcare access by providing free medical screenings, vaccinations, and health education tailored to the needs of refugees. Additionally, as families prepare for the upcoming school year, the event will also offer school supplies and resources to ensure that refugee children have the tools they need to succeed. By coming together as a community, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our refugee neighbors and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Join us in this important endeavor to promote health, wellness, and educational success!
