Tryouts for the USF Figure Skating competitive team will be on Thursday, September 19th, from 6:30-8:30am at AdventHealth Center Ice.. . REQUIREMENTS to try out:. . Full programs are required! , Wear skating dress or all black, Tryout ice time will be early weekday morning during September (exact date TBD), Must be a full time student or a part time student in your last semester! Performance at tryouts. We are looking for the following:. . Skaters should aim to max out the program requirements for their level. For instance, if a double/double jump combo is permitted, skaters should plan to include a double/double in their program. Not maxing out the requirements may result in being moved to a lower competition level if you are eligible for it based on your test levels. This is to ensure higher placement in events, therefore earning more team points. . Short Program & Freeskate: speed, flow, power, fast spins, strong spin positions, consistent jumps, posture, facial expressions, engage with judges & audience. Freedance: speed, flow, power, choreo, emotion, deep edges, lines, extension, facial expressions, engage with judges & audience. Pattern dance: speed, flow, power, precise footwork, deep edges, lines, extension, timing, rhythm, carriage, facial expressions, engage with judges & audience. Placement at previous competitions, Competition levels you are eligible for based on your USFS test levels.. . AFTER tryouts, all skaters will be notified of the results for all 30 starts, in addition to individual coach feedback. . If you are not assigned a start, you are still welcome to come to the competition and you are encouraged to keep practicing! You may be asked to substitute if a team member needs to withdraw for a medical reason (illness, injury). . National Intercollegiate Final at Notre Dame: April 11-13, 2025 (dependent on team qualification). . . .
