VISTA Gardens is a 3.31 acre Hillsborough Country Garden Park that looks to preserve the native foliage and butterfly population.At this garden, volunteers would be helping out with tasks that needs to be done (planting, some weeding, composting, etc). Please be sure to bring some sunscreen and sun protection (caps/hats) in addition to water and snacks. The Lunchtime Leadership Series is a CLCE program where Tampa Bay community and corporate partners who practice ethical, empowering, and inclusive leadership are invited to discuss leadership as it is practiced within their organization. This program encourages student persistence by creating a pathway for connections between students and the wider Tampa Bay community. It allows them to see the value of NACE competencies in action. Join us in making a difference by volunteering at our mobile pantry event! Mobile pantries bring nutritious food to communities in need, especially food deserts where access to quality, affordable groceries is limited. Volunteers will help pack boxes of assorted groceries and distribute them to guests in a drive-thru style format. This is an outdoor, off-site activity, so please dress appropriately: all volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers preferred) and shirts with sleeves—no tank tops. Jeans or shorts of appropriate length are recommended. Volunteers wearing open-toe shoes will not be allowed to participate. The minimum age to volunteer is 13 with an adult or 16 to volunteer independently. The event takes place at Lockhart Elementary Magnet School, 3888 N 19th St, Tampa, FL 33610. A retreat gathering in the serene camp site of Luther Springs about 1.5 hours from campus (transportation provided). This getaway will start after classes on Friday October 10th and we will return to campus on October 12th. With lodging options from bunkhouses to tents, there will be activities such as archery, kayaking, and hiking.
