VISTA Gardens is a 3.31 acre Hillsborough Country Garden Park that looks to preserve the native foliage and butterfly population.At this garden, volunteers would be helping out with tasks that needs to be done (planting, some weeding, composting, etc). Please be sure to bring some sunscreen and sun protection (caps/hats) in addition to water and snacks. - Oct 224:00 PMStampede of Service: Feeding Tampa BayJoin us in making a difference by volunteering at our mobile pantry event! Mobile pantries bring nutritious food to communities in need, especially food deserts where access to quality, affordable groceries is limited. Volunteers will help pack boxes of assorted groceries and distribute them to guests in a drive-thru style format. This is an outdoor, off-site activity, so please dress appropriately: all volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (sneakers preferred) and shirts with sleeves—no tank tops. Jeans or shorts of appropriate length are recommended. Volunteers wearing open-toe shoes will not be allowed to participate. The minimum age to volunteer is 13 with an adult or 16 to volunteer independently. The event takes place at Lockhart Elementary Magnet School, 3888 N 19th St, Tampa, FL 33610. - Oct 24–25Bulls Service Break: Second Harvest Food Bank of Central FloridaTrip Name: From Shelf to Service: Fighting Hunger in Central Florida Dates: October 24–25, 2025 Partner: Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida Theme: Food Justice & Hunger Relief Who Can Join: Open to all USF students Cost: $40. Includes transportation, lodging, food, educational and training materials, and experiences.Purpose: This Bulls Service Break experience will immerse students in the full cycle of food insecurity response — from education and service to distribution and impact. Students will engage with the systemic challenges of hunger, gain insight into food bank operations, and directly serve individuals and families in need in the Central Florida community.Learning Outcomes By participating in this trip, students will be able to:Understand the root causes and scale of food insecurity in Central Florida through a guided educational tour.Describe the operational model of a regional food bank, including food sourcing, sorting, and logistics.Contribute to hunger relief efforts through hands-on donation sorting and food packing activities.Reflect on the impact of community partnerships by assisting in a food distribution event alongside local feeding partners.Connect civic engagement to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.Don't miss this opportunity to make a lasting difference!
